ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Miftah Ismail has said that whether he retains his post or not is up to the discretion of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
According to details, in his recent statement, Finance Minister Miftah Ismail said that they are not in favor of imposing sales tax on petroleum products and will increase the marginal levy. The final decision on OGRA summary will be taken by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
Ismail said that the plan is long but it continues in Pakistan’s politics. The Prime Minister is planning for the next several days but no one knows the future as happened with Asad Umar during Imran Khan’s rule.
The federal finance minister said Ishaq Dar was part of the government’s economic team. Ishaq Dar panel was also involved in SBP interviews. It should be noted that so far neither Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif nor any other government official has announced the removal of Miftah Ismail.
The PML-N federal government made Miftah Ismail the federal finance minister as soon as it came to power, while the federal cabinet headed by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has repeatedly expressed confidence in his decisions on the economy.
