RAWALPINDI: The law enforcement agencies have retrieved state land worth around Rs nine billion from the illegal occupation of the influential personalities in Rawalpindi.
In a major operation of the Anti-Corruption Establishment, the law enforcement agencies demolished marquees set up on the lands of Pakistan Railways along with the Punjab Revenue Authority in Bahria Phase-7.
Anti-Corruption Rawalpindi Circle Officer Zahid Zahoor said that legal action would be taken against such elements under the command of Director Anti-Corruption Rawalpindi and DG Anti-Corruption Punjab Gohar Nafees. He said about 80 Kanal 4 marla commercial property valuing over Rs 3 billion was retrieved earlier in the suburbs of the city.
Earlier, the Lahore district administration conducted an operation to relinquish government lands. As per details, on the order of Prime Minister Imran Khan Government lands worth billions of rupees were relinquished.
Assistant Commissioner Raiwind Adnan Rashid was leading the action to relinquish government land during the anti-encroachment operation.
The law enforcement agencies had so far retrieved state land worth around Rs 200 billion from the illegal occupation of the influential personalities, he added. Similarly, 1050 Kanal land was recovered in Kasur and 2400 Kanal held by another PML-N leader Daniyal Aziz in Sargodha, he informed.
