KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers Sindh and Police conducted a joint operation in Lyari and arrested two wanted gangsters, said a statement by the paramilitary.
In a statement, the law enforcement agencies said they have arrested two wanted suspects Aman alias Naresh and Usama alias Marwari and are affiliated with Majeed alias Majna group of Zahid Ladla gang
The arrested criminals were involved in a wide range of criminal activities including murder, attempt to murder, extortion and drug trafficking. The accused are also involved in robberies, grenade attacks and other heinous crimes.
Rangers said the arrested men have confessed the murder of a man Saddam in a rickshaw on the orders of Rashid alias Chikna and Irshad alias Ullu.
They have also confessed extorting money along with accomplices Safeer, Fawad and Sheroz alias Dada. They have allegedly committed around 60 crimes in Baldia, Civil Hospital area, Jodia Bazaar and Shershah areas of Karachi.
Earlier on January 30, Police and Pakistan Rangers Sindh conducted a joint raid in Orangi Town and arrested a most wanted Lyari gang war criminal.
According to Rangers spokesperson, the Lyari gangster Ismail alias Painter was arrested during a joint raid in Mominabad area of Orangi Town. The suspect was wanted in a wide range of criminal cases including extortion, kidnapping for ransom, murder and attacks on policemen.
The statement added that Ismail was hiding in a foreign country for five years over fear of being arrested during Karachi Operation. He returned to Karachi last month to revive the gang war again. The alleged gangster was handed over to the police for further action.
