India’s Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has warned that if Pakistan undertakes any adventure in the Sir Creek sector, India’s strong reaction will change both Pakistan’s history and geography.

According to details, the Indian Defense Minister stated this on Thursday while addressing a ceremony during his visit to the Bhuj military base in the state of Gujarat. The ceremony was attended by the Indian Army Chief along with senior military leadership.

Without providing relevant details, Rajnath Singh claimed that Pakistan is increasing its military involvement in the Sir Creek sector and is also constructing infrastructure, which according to him reflects “Pakistan’s ill intentions.”
So far, no response has come from Pakistan’s Foreign Office or military regarding the Indian Defense Minister’s statement.

Rajnath Singh further claimed that despite India’s multiple attempts for dialogue, Pakistan has kept the Sir Creek area disputed for the past 78 years.
He claimed that during the 1965 war, the Indian Army had reached Lahore, and “in 2025, Pakistan should remember that a road from Sir Creek leads to Karachi.”

On this occasion, Rajnath Singh also virtually inaugurated two important installations in the strategically significant Sir Creek sector, including the Tideal Independent Berthing Facility and the Joint Control Center.
He said that with the help of this project, coastal security operations will improve, and India’s ability to respond immediately against any external aggression will be enhanced.

During the ceremony, he praised the Indian Army’s excellent performance in “Operation Sindoor” and claimed that during the war, Indian forces successfully foiled Pakistan’s attempts to infiltrate the defense network.

The Defense Minister further said that India is facing challenges such as external aggression, terrorist organizations, and cyber warfare.

What is the Sir Creek dispute?
There is a dispute between Pakistan and India regarding maritime boundaries in the Sir Creek area, and both countries have held negotiations several times on this issue which were not successful.

In January 2006, experts from both countries conducted a joint survey of the Sir Creek area and exchanged recommendations regarding the determination of maritime boundaries along with a consensus map.

In the 2007 meeting, some new points were raised after which it was decided to conduct another survey.
Regarding the delimitation of Sir Creek, India’s stance has been that the boundary lies in the middle of the creek, while Pakistan says the boundary is located on the eastern bank of the creek.
