Various parts of the country, including Islamabad, are experiencing rain and snow. In Islamabad, light drizzle accompanied by strong winds occurred late at night.
In Azad Kashmir’s Leepa Valley, snowfall continues, covering various areas under a thick blanket of snow. Several locations, including Bathwar Gali and Sher Gali, have received heavy snowfall. More than a foot of snow has accumulated in parts of Leepa Valley, cutting off its road access to the capital.
Meanwhile, Sarai Alamgir experienced its first winter rain, bringing a noticeable drop in temperature. The changing weather conditions have added to the winter charm but may also cause travel disruptions in the affected areas.
Earlier, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted mainly cold and dry weather in most plain areas of the country during next 24 hours, while very cold in hilly areas during morning and night.
According to a report, partly cloudy weather with rain thunderstorm and light snowfall was likely to hit isolated places in northeast Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas.
