ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi left Islamabad for New York on Monday night to attend the emergency session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on the issue of the latest Israeli atrocities on Palestine.
According to details, the foreign minister has arrived in Istanbul on an extensive diplomatic mission. On his way to New York, FM Qurehsi will be accompanied by the foreign ministers of Turkey, Sudan, and Palestine.
FM Qureshi is undertaking the UN visit on the special instructions of Prime Minister Imran Khan to draw the attention of the international community to the deteriorating situation in Palestine. In New York, he will hold important meetings with various dignitaries at the UN.
The Foreign Minister will also address an emergency session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) to reaffirm Pakistan’s support for the cause of oppressed Palestinians.
The foreign minister will also hold talks with local and international media representatives and present Pakistan’s views on the situation in Palestine.
Speaking on the floor of the National Assembly on Monday, FM Qureshi said Pakistan, Turkey, Sudan, and Palestine’s foreign ministers would visit New York and raise their voices against Israel’s aggression in the Gaza Strip at the UN General Assembly.
