Russian President Vladimir Putin has given credit to U.S. President Donald Trump for the improvement in Russia-U.S. relations.
According to international media, the Russian President said during a press conference on Friday that due to Donald Trump’s efforts, relations between Russia and the United States have started to stabilize.
Putin said that he has great respect for President Trump and wants to meet him. The Russian President clarified that this meeting would have to be prepared for very carefully; however, it is quite possible that it may take place.
He said that they are grateful to President Trump that relations between the two countries have begun to improve in some respects.
The Russian President further said that although not everything has been decided in the sphere of diplomatic relations, the initial steps have been taken, and progress is ongoing in this direction.
It is worth noting that Russia and the United States have had strained relations for a long time and have leveled serious accusations against each other.
That is why the recent progress in Russia-U.S. relations is being viewed with surprise. Interestingly, Donald Trump has come to power in the United States for the second time, while President Vladimir Putin has ruled Russia for more than two decades.
