The Punjab government has initiated the Public Schools Reorganisation Programme, inviting applications from young entrepreneurs to manage government schools through public-private partnerships. This program aims to engage educated youth, experienced individuals, school chains, ed-tech firms, and NGOs in improving public sector schools across the province.
Under this initiative, the Punjab government’s School Education Department will offer subsidies for enrolled and verified students, covering tuition fees and other relevant expenses. Initially, the program focuses on outsourcing primary schools.
Here’s how young entrepreneurs can apply:
- Groups of three individuals (friends or family) can apply for one school, selecting five preferred schools from the advertised list.
- One person will act as the lead applicant for the group.
- Among the group, one applicant must have at least three years of post-qualification teaching or school management experience.
- Each person can apply only once in a young entrepreneurs’ group.
- One applicant must hold an MA/MSc/BS degree (16 years of education), while the other two can be graduates with BA/BSc degrees (14 years of education).
- Preference will be given to candidates with higher educational qualifications.
- At least one applicant must hold a graduate degree in natural sciences, information technology, or computer sciences.
- The maximum age limit for all applicants is 40 years.
The deadline for submitting applications is June 5, 2024.
