The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has postponed its upcoming recruitment exams due to the catastrophic flooding that has gripped much of the province.

The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by PPSC Chairman Lieutenant General (Retd.) Muhammad Abdul Aziz, attended by Secretary Afzal Ahmed, Member Exam Mirza Sohail Amir, and Incharge Examination Rana Rahat Ameen.

The exams, originally slated for August 30 and 31, were scheduled to fill 434 vacancies, including positions such as Inspector Legal (Specialist Cadre) Punjab Police. More than 8,000 candidates from across the province were expected to appear.

According to officials, new exam dates will be announced later, and candidates will be notified via SMS, email, and the PPSC website once the revised schedule is finalized.

The move comes as Punjab faces one of the worst floods in recent years, leaving large areas submerged and disrupting public life.
