LAHORE — The Punjab government on Friday extended the implementation of Section 144 across the province and renewed a province‑wide ban on flying outdoor drones for 30 days, officials said.
The prohibition on operating drones in the open air — originally imposed in last week of February 2026 — was first introduced by the Punjab Home Department on security grounds and has now been extended until April 25.
A spokesman for the Punjab Interior Department said limited use of small drones will continue to be allowed only during events held inside halls and marquees, with event organizers bearing responsibility for their safe operation.
Law enforcement and intelligence agencies have been exempted from the ban, the spokesman added, while the administration and police across Punjab have been directed to strictly enforce the orders. He emphasized that public safety, maintenance of law and order and protection of property are the government’s first priorities.
