Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s activist Sanam Javed has decided to withdraw from participating in gernal elections, next month, after being re-arrested in Lahore.
Javed was planning to contest elections from NA-119 in Lahore, the same constituency from where PMLN’s Maryam Nawaz is also contesting.
However, Javed’s sister, Falak, said in a video on Monday that they were putting their weight behind Shehzad Farooq in the elections. She added that Farooq’s campaign should be run as if Sanam’s own.
Earlier, Sanam Javed was arrested immediately after being released on bail in a arson case.
Judge Arshad Javed Chadhar had accepted her bail plea and ordered her release. However, she was immediately arrested and shifted to Shadman police station.
