Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf spokesperson Raoof Hassan was injured in a knife attack in Islamabad on Tuesday.
Hassan was attacked by unidentified assailants upon arriving at the office of a private TV channel in Islamabad. The incident’s news reached the Senate, prompting the opposition to stage a walk-out.

PTI leader Shibli Faraz condemned the attack, noting that Hassan is a spokesperson for the country’s largest political party.
In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), PTI described the incident as “extremely shameful and deplorable,” reporting that Central Information Secretary Raoof Hasan was attacked by unidentified individuals outside a private channel’s office.
A video shared with the statement shows Hasan, visibly injured and with blood on his face, requesting medical assistance as he enters a building.
PTI issued another statement expressing concern over the attack, questioning the safety of others if the spokesperson of the “largest party” could be assaulted in the federal capital in broad daylight.
The identity of the attackers remains unknown.
PTI leader Hammad Azhar condemned the attack as an act of “cowardice and panic,” and shared a picture of a blade allegedly used in the assault. “Panic is at its peak,” he commented.
