ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Dr Iftikhar Durrani has reportedly been arrested by police.
According to reports, police arrested Durrani from his residence in Islamabad in the wee hours of Thursday. PTI has also confirmed the news of Durrani arrest calling it an abduction. Durrani has been shifted to some undisclosed location after arrest.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan condemned the arrest and question why Iftikhar Durrani been “picked up” in the middle of the night without any arrest warrant. He said Durrani had nothing to do with the 9th May incident.
“So the crackdown against anyone who has anything to do with PTI continues,” he said. “It should now be obvious that this oppression and clampdown against PTI has nothing to do with the events of 9th May but everything to do with the London plan to dismantle PTI,” he added.

Durrani served as Special Assistant to Prime Minister during PTI tenure. He also served as head of Central Media Department of the party.
Previously, Durrani served as Advisor on Communication in Education Department to the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2013. He is Ph.D. in Public Policy from National Defence University.
