LAHORE: Senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Shah Mahmood Qureshi has urged upon the legal fraternity to join the movement to protect the country’s constitution and judiciary.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, Qureshi stated that PTI is standing firm in its commitment to uphold the Constitution and Chief Justice. He added that if the Constitution is not followed, it will have adverse effects for the country.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi, while accusing government of attacking the constitution, criticized Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for remaining silent on the issue. He highlighted the efforts made by Aitzaz Ahsan and Latif Khosa in advocating for the glorification and supremacy of the Constitution.

Referring to Supreme Court’s proceedings, he revealed that the Attorney General had requested multiple times to constitute a full bench court, but couldn’t provide a single argument to support his plea.
He emphasized that PTI only wants to implement and follow the rules, and has always protected the Constitution.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi blasted government for sky rocketing inflation, and said people were being humiliated for ration and food as 12 lives were lost only in Karachi alone the other day.
Meanwhile, a sessions court in Lahore earlier on Saturday extended till April 13 interim bail of PTI’s Vice-Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi in a case relating to inciting the masses and blocking road.
Additional Sessions Judge Rana Mudassor heard the plea. Accused Fawad Chaudhry and Shibly Faraz did not appeared in court. The court ordered Shah Mahmood Qureshi to join the investigation process.
