The Islamabad district administration has granted a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for holding a rally on September 8, but with strict conditions—41 in total—that the party must adhere to during the event.
According to a notification issued on Thursday, a detailed route plan has been shared for participants arriving from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab via the motorway. The rally is set to take place at the open grounds on GT Road Singhu Jai and will commence at 4 p.m., with a conclusion time of 7 p.m.
One of the key stipulations outlined by the district administration is the prohibition of any anti-state speeches or slogans during the rally. The permission granted is valid only for the scheduled date of September 8, and organizers are tasked with ensuring that participants return home by the same night.
In addition to managing internal security, the organizers must guarantee that the rally adheres to the code of conduct, specifically regarding the content of speeches. Any violation of these terms could result in legal consequences.
The administration has also issued separate route plans for those traveling to the rally. Attendees coming from KP and Punjab via the motorway will have distinct routes, while those from GT Road in Punjab, as well as residents of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Murree, will follow different paths to the event venue.
This rally comes after PTI was forced to cancel its previous event scheduled for August 22, which the party claimed was due to a “government conspiracy to incite chaos.” With the new date and strict conditions in place, it remains to be seen how the event will unfold and whether the party will adhere to the administration’s guidelines.
