Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has formally accepted the resignation of Ali Amin Gandapur as the president of PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).
The move comes just days after Gandapur was replaced by Junaid Akbar as the new president of PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The decision to remove Gandapur from his leadership position follows significant political developments.
On Saturday, PTI’s founder Imran Khan relieved his close confidante and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, from the role of party president, appointing Junaid Akbar Khan as his successor.
The change was announced by PTI Secretary General Barrister Salman Akram Raja and is seen as part of PTI’s broader political strategy amid ongoing negotiations with the ruling PML-N coalition.
Junaid Akbar’s nomination as PTI K-P president came shortly after he was elected unopposed as the Chairman of the National Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC), filling a position that had been vacant since the February 2024 general elections.
