ISLAMABAD: Barrister Gohar, the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has asserted that the charge sheet filed against Faiz Hameed, the former head of the intelligence agency, is an internal affair of the military.
In a discussion with a private television channel, Barrister Gohar emphasized that PTI is not implicated in the charge sheet concerning Faiz Hameed, as the military operates under its own established protocols for conducting trials.
He also indicated that conversations regarding the civil disobedience movement will take place with PTI’s founder, Imran Khan.
It is important to note that Faiz Hameed, who previously served as the Director-General of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), has been officially charged.
As per a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Faiz Hameed is currently facing trial through a Field General Court Martial, and he has now been formally charged in the subsequent phase.
The allegations against Faiz Hameed include participation in political activities and breaches of the Official Secrets Act, which are said to have jeopardized the security and interests of the state.
Furthermore, he faces charges of abusing his authority and public resources, resulting in unjust harm to individuals.
