PTI arrested leader Ibad Farooq’s son passes away in father’s grief

Lahore: The 9-year-old son of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) arrested leader Mian Ibad Farooq passed away on Monday allegedly in his father’s grief.

Ibad Farooq’s brother said that his nephew Ammar Ibad died due to mental illness which he had developed after his father’s arrest.

He said that Ammar Ibad was suffering from mental illness and used to cry in memory of his father. Ammar funeral prayer will be offered tonight at Munshi Hospital Lahore.

Earlier, Ibad Farooq had encouraged Ammar from jail and had given him a message not to worry.

It should be noted that PTI’s ticket holder from PP 149, Ibad Farooq, is in jail in the May 9 incident case.

Earlier, in an alleged audio message to party activists, the arrested PTI leader claimed that he had reached Lahore Corps Commander House along with party leader Yasmeen Rashid, Ijaz Chaudhry, and Mahmood-ur-Rasheed.

“We have got clear instructions from Yasmin Rashid to set Corps Commander House on fire,” Ibad Farooq said, adding that Ijaz Chaudhry has also instructed not to stop until the release of the PTI chairman.

May 9 events:

Violent clashes broke out across Pakistan after the former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief was arrested at the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday.

The protests were held in remote and major cities as the party workers were agitated due to their chairman’s arrest, with Balochistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad summoning the armed forces to ensure law and order.

Army installations and the Corps Commander’s house in Lahore came under attack during a protest by PTI workers.
