KSE 100 index gains 700 points in early trading

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) surged in the early morning session on Thursday and crossed over 700 points.

The benchmark KSE 100 index has gained 651 points as trading resumed reaching its highest level of 42,728.28 points. The bourse resumed trading after crossing the 42,022.25 points and surged in early trading.

The total volume of shares so far is 176.898 million valued at Rs6.298 billion. The top contributor to KSE 100 index is the Oil and Gas Exploration (+45.28pts), while the Refinery sector has seen the highest change (+4.24%) in market capitalisation.

The stock market on Wednesday witnessed a bullish trend as KSE 100 index closed at 42,022.25 points with a positive change.

The benchmark KSE 100 index dipped to an intraday low but then managed to recover its losses touching an intraday high of 42,196.17 gainings 210.98 points.

The index settled higher by 37.06 points at 42,022.25. The overall market volumes contracted from 884.36 million shares in the previous session to 707.01 million shares.
