Peshawar Zalmi comfortably defeated Karachi Kings by seven wickets in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 1
In the match played at Gaddafi Stadium, Karachi Kings won the toss and opted to bat first against Peshawar Zalmi.
Karachi posted 182 for 9 in their 20 overs, with Jason Roy top-scoring with 85 runs, while Azam Khan contributed 35.
Zalmi’s young fast bowler Ali Raza completed a hat-trick off the final three deliveries of the innings, finishing with four wickets in total. Mohammad Basit, Iftikhar Ahmed, Sufiyan Muqeem and Aaron Hardie claimed one wicket each.
At just 18, Ali Raza became the youngest bowler to take a hat-trick in PSL history and the seventh overall to achieve the feat.
In reply, Peshawar Zalmi chased down the target of 183 with ease in the 19th over, losing only three wickets, thanks to an outstanding innings by Kusal Mendis, who scored 80. Farhan Yousuf remained unbeaten on 58.
With this victory, Zalmi secured their eighth win of the tournament and maintained their position at the top of the table. They remain unbeaten, with 17 points from nine matches, including one washed-out game.
Meanwhile, Karachi Kings sit seventh on the table with six points from eight matches.
It is worth noting that Peshawar Zalmi have already qualified for the playoffs.
