On the occasion of Pakistan Day, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the nation and paid tribute to the sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces.
In his message, President Asif Ali Zardari stated that the country is currently facing major political, economic, and security challenges, and the brave armed forces are making great sacrifices in the defense of the homeland.
He emphasized that they would remain steadfast in defending the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Every Pakistani should rise above differences, reject division and negative tendencies.
In his address at the main ceremony of the Pakistan Day parade, the President also said that Pakistan must be made strong and developed. He congratulated everyone on organizing a splendid parade and vowed to thwart the nefarious ambitions of extremist and terrorist organizations. The nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces to eliminate the scourge of terrorism.
The President highlighted that fifth-generation warfare is a significant challenge. However, Pakistan is a resilient nation, capable of overcoming challenges. He affirmed that no sacrifice would be spared for the protection of the homeland and noted that Pakistan has strongly countered both internal and external terrorism. He also mentioned that India always looks at Pakistan with hostility.
Furthermore, he stated that the journey ahead is not easy, but it is not impossible either. He appealed to everyone to dedicate their energies to national development and work for a prosperous and peaceful Pakistan beyond differences.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his message, said that within a year, they had put Pakistan’s economy on the path of sustainable growth, with a continuous decline in inflation and an increase in investor confidence.
He added that international financial institutions and rating agencies have acknowledged this transformation. With the right policies, sincerity, and national unity, economic prosperity can be achieved.
The Prime Minister also paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the protection of the homeland. He emphasized that on Pakistan Day, the principles of unity, faith, and discipline must be remembered.
