ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways has decided to run four special trains for the convenience of passengers on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Eid special trains will be run to provide relief to the passengers of Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, and Quetta.
CEO Railway Aamir Ali Baloch has issued instructions to run Eid special trains. He said that if the prices of petroleum products come down, the railway will also reduce fares on Eid.
Aamir Ali Baloch also emphasized the role of coal transportation in meeting nearly 50% of the expenditure of railways and stressed the need for continuous efforts to run the railway system efficiently.
He acknowledged the contribution of former Railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq in improving the railways including track maintenance and reviving profitable trains.
It should be noted that Pakistan Railways runs special Eid trains every year on the occasion of Eid because many citizens face travel difficulties due to high public transport fares.
A large number of citizens travel by special trains due to the running of additional trains and fare concessions by the Railways.
