KARACHI: President of PTI Karachi chapter and member Sindh Assembly Khurram Sher Zaman has asserted that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was responsible for all failures in Sindh.
“PPP wants to promote instability and chaos in the country by doing conspiracies,” Khurram Sher Zaman said while addressing a press conference in Insaaf House Karachi today (Sunday).
Referring to the wheat crisis in the country, the PTI MPA accused the PPP-led provincial government of hoarding wheat to create an artificial shortage in the province. “The Sindh government has 1.2 million tonnes of wheat in stock,” he claimed.
Khurram Sher Zaman also attributed the hike in wheat prices in the province to the delay in releasing wheat to flour mills. He criticised the Sindh government for its failure to deliver.
“The wheat crisis is again rising in Sindh and due to which all blackmailers in Sindh have become active,” he said, adding that it was the responsibility of provincial governments to control the prices.
He requested the Chief Justice of Pakistan to order an inquiry into the wheat crisis in Sindh. “We fear that riots may break out because of wheat,” he added.
Zaman also condemned the assassination of Shaykh-ul-Hadeeth Maulana Adil Khan, who was gunned down in Shah Faisal Colony in Karachi a day ago. “Enemies of the country will not succeed in their nefarious designs against Pakistan,” he concluded.
