BAGH: Pakistan People’s Party has won the seat of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Constituency LA-15 by-election.
According to the inconclusive results of the by-election in the Bagh district of Azad Kashmir, Sardar Zia Qamar, the nominee of the Pakistan People’s Party won with 25,755 votes. In contrast, the nominee of Pakistan Muslim League-N won the sensational contest. Mushtaq Ahmad Minhas stood second with 20485 votes.
Colonel (retd) Zameer Khan, the candidate of Tehreek-e-Insaf, which won the historic victory in the 2021 general elections, was defeated, the seat of LA-15 constituency was vacant in the light of the Supreme Court decision of former Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas.
To make the election transparent, more than 2500 police personnel and 500 FC personnel were deployed as a quick response. Clashes between PPP and Muslim League-N workers also took place at several places controlled by the police.

For the by-election, 189 polling stations were established in the constituency, with 59 polling stations for men, 57 for women, and 73 joint polling stations.
