ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) on Friday has said that it has discovered the crude and gas oil reserves in Balochistan and Sindh.
PPL Managing Director Moen Raza said that so far only one line has been drilled in Kalat and there is much potential of finding more hydrocarbons. He said the PPL informed Pakistan Stock Exchange about the hydrocarbon discovery. The first discovery is in Sindh’s Khairpur and the second in Balochistan’s Katal.

It is also highlighted that this is the first gas discovery on Kalat Plateau and has opened a new sub-basin for further hydrocarbon exploration. The discovery of Margand X-1 well is the result of an aggressive strategy in the exploration of frontier basins adopted by PPL, to open new avenues for hydrocarbon exploration and production in Balochistan Province.
