K-Electric has announced a planned maintenance shutdown that will affect multiple areas of Karachi on August 20, 2026.

According to the utility company, electricity supply will remain suspended in several residential and commercial localities between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM as part of scheduled maintenance work aimed at strengthening and improving the city’s power distribution network.

Residents in the affected areas may experience power outages lasting between eight and ten hours, depending on their location. K-Electric said the temporary shutdown is necessary to carry out essential upgrades and maintenance activities to ensure a more reliable electricity supply in the future.
