SWAT: Fatehpur police apprehended a suspect after he killed his wife in the name of honour in Fatehpur area of the Swat on Friday.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Habibullah said on Saturday that the man identified as Fazal Khaliq allegedly killed his wife on suspicious relations. He said the accused had first strangled his wife with a piece cloth later murdered her using a rock.
DSP Habibullah further told a First Information Report (FIR) was registered against the murderer under the Section 311 (applicable in cases where there’s no compromise regarding the case as a whole) and murder,” DSP said. The case is being investigated further to discover the root causes of murder.
The accused Khaliq reportedly confessed to killing his wife during the police investigation. “I was extensive irritated on the suspicious relation of my wife and my mind had congested for working,” the police quoted him saying.
