Police arrest man for defrauding people in Karachi

KARACHI: Karachi police have arrested a man who was defrauding people millions of rupees through a business scam.

According to details, Baghdadi investigation police arrested the accused Noman alias Double Shah from the Lyari area of Karachi.

Lyari police disclosed that the arrested accused used to rob citizens under the pretext of doubling their money and getting them cheap motorcycles.

Cases had been registered against accused Noman in Lyari and other several police stations of Karachi’s site area. “Double Shah received money from the citizens of Karachi for two years under various pretexts,” police said.

So far, Noman alias Double Shah has received Rs 8-9 crore, after which several affected citizens contacted the police. A case has been registered against the accused. Further investigation is underway.

Earlier, the district police today (Saturday) have arrested five criminals involved in street crimes and drug trafficking in Karachi’s Steel town.

According to details, the police have also recovered illegal weapons, drugs and a huge quantity of smuggled gutka from the possession of the arrested accused.

The arrested criminals were identified as Kumar, Mohammad Asim, Mohammad Fahim, Khurram Javed and Shaan.

A police spokesperson has informed that the arrested accused confessed to having committed heinous crimes. The police have registered cases against the arrested accused under several provisions and have started an investigation.
