KARACHI: The Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) arrested 23 Indian fishermen and seized four boats for illegally fishing in territorial waters of the country near Sir Creek.
Addressing a press Conference, Mission in-charge of the exercise, Commander Farooq informed about the arrests.
Commander Farooq said that the operation was based on information about the presence of Indian boats operating near Pakistan-India borders.
He said that two fast boats of PMSA were used in the operation to intercept the boats, manned by the fishermen.
He reiterated that the boats could have been risked for national security, adding that they can’t overrule possible involvement of these boats in false flag operations.
These men were said to have adopted evasive manoeuvre to avert getting apprehended.
