ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) has reportedly decided not to support the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the Senate elections, as the federal government failed to fulfill the demands of its main ally.
“In the upcoming Senate elections, the party will vote very carefully because our demands were not accepted by the PTI-led incumbent government,” sources within the PML-Q told M.M News on condition of anonymity.
Sources further said that unless the party’s reservations are addressed, the PML-Q will not support the PTI in the Senate elections under any circumstances.
According to the sources, the PML-Q was not given the positions it wanted in Punjab. “So far, the present government has failed to address the country’s ongoing issues,” the sources added.
It was said that the PML-Q would be given two important ministries in the federation and the province. However, after the formation of the coalition government, the PML-Q was given one ministry each in the Punjab and the federation.
“Former president Asif Ali Zardari is also playing the role of mediator between the Chaudhry brothers and Nawaz Sharif. Contacts have started which has received a positive response,” sources claimed.
