ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the premier was worried about the people suffering during the COVID-19 crisis, while the PML-N leadership was lamenting over Sharif family’s problems.
Earlier, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has criticized the PTI-led federal government for taking inadequate measures to contain the outbreak of coronavirus.
In response to Abbasi’s criticism of the government, Awan said “The people had thrown out political parties from the ruling office who could not run the country, adding that Abbasi should tell his party leadership to return what they took from the nation,” she tweeted.

“Now is the time to stand with the people of the country that you ruled for decades,” she added.

Addressing a press conference along with PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb and Senator Musadik Malik, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that the government has failed to prevent the deadly coronavirus – which has claimed lives of more than 180 people in Pakistan.
He further said that the people of Pakistan might have to suffer in the coming days because of the in-competencies of the incumbent government.
Shahid Khaqan said, “Previously the government wasn’t able to make a firm decision regarding lockdown and now they are easing restrictions amid a rising number of coronavirus infections.”
The former prime minister also criticized the discriminatory behavior of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) towards PML-N and its leaders.
