The Meteorological Department (PMD) has announced rain and snowfall in various cities, including Islamabad, as reported by national media on Sunday.
According to the Met Office, Islamabad and its surrounding areas are expected to remain cold with partly cloudy skies, while most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will experience cold and dry weather. However, light rain is expected in some areas of Chitral, Dir, Swat, and Kohistan.
Most districts of Punjab will have cold weather with partly cloudy skies, while light rain and snowfall are predicted in Murree, Galyat, Kashmir, Quetta, Ziarat, and Pishin. In Karachi, wind patterns have changed again, increasing humidity levels.
The Met Office reports that the current temperature in Karachi is 20°C, with a perceived temperature of 24°C. Winds are blowing from the west at a speed of 11 km/h, and humidity levels have reached 95%.
At present, a slight chill is felt along with mild fog. However, the city will continue to experience warm daytime temperatures, with a maximum expected temperature of 34°C. Over the next 24 hours, Karachi will have intense sunshine during the day and dry weather at night.
According to the Air Quality Index, Karachi’s air quality has improved slightly. The city ranks 25th among the world’s most polluted cities and 7th in Pakistan. The concentration of polluted particles in the air has been recorded at 75 particulate meters.
