ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate the land record digitization project today.
The news was confirmed by Prime Minister for Political communication Dr. Shahbaz Gill that the prime minister was launching a project today which would revolutionize the land record digitization project in Pakistan.

He said that no one would be able to take fake plots, take bribes and take fake possession of government or private land. With this project, more than 300 billion government lands were returned to the government in Islamabad alone. In line with the Prime Minister’s vision, the Cadastral Mapping Scheme to transform the old Patwar system into a modern digital online system has been developed by the Survey of Pakistan using Geographic Information System (GIS). The creation process is complete.
According to official sources, the Survey of Pakistan has been entrusted with the task of cadastral mapping, the main objective of which is to transform the existing system of mapping and scaling into a modern and digital format.
The first phase of the project includes digitization of revenue records of 3 major cities Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, and preparation of digital data of government lands of the country. The total cost of the project is Rs. 1994 million.
