Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has canceled his planned foreign visit due to the ongoing discussions surrounding a constitutional amendment.
According to diplomatic sources, the Prime Minister was scheduled to travel to Samoa on Tuesday to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, which is set to take place on October 24 and 25.
In his absence, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar will represent Pakistan at the summit, the sources revealed. Ishaq Dar is expected to depart for Samoa tonight to ensure Pakistan’s participation in the high-level event.
Moreover, the Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, is expected to depart for Dubai later tonight.
According to the parliamentary sources, Bilawal Bhutto will fly to Dubai following the approval of the 26th Constitutional Amendment from the parliament.
Bilawal Bhutto’s visit to Dubai is primarily for a family reunion, where he plans to meet his sister Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari and his nephew.
