ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that he is personally overseeing measures to deal with the novel coronavirus.
In a tweet on Saturday, the prime minister advised people to follow safety instructions issued by the government, saying that he will address the nation soon.
“I want to inform the nation I am personally overseeing measures to deal with COVID 19 & will address the nation soon. I would advise people to follow safety instructions issued by our govt. While there is a need for caution there is no need for panic,” said the prime minister.
The prime minister said while there is a need for caution, there is no need for panic. He said the government remains alert to the dangers and have put in place sufficient protocols for the safety and health of the people.
He said the World Health Organisation has commended our efforts as being amongst the best in the world.
“We are alert to the dangers & have put in place sufficient protocols for the safety and health of our people. The WHO has commended our efforts as being amongst the best in the world,” he added.
Pakistan has now thirty cases on the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) as two new cases were reported on Saturday. The first was reported from Islamabad, while the second case was detected in Sindh.
