ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of prominent businessman Seth Abid Hussain.
In a condolence message on his official Twitter handle today, the prime minister said Seth Abid was one of the early donors of Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital Lahore. PM Imran also extended heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the bereaved family.

Seth Abid passed away in Karachi on Friday. His funeral prayers were offered the other day at Hafiz Ayaz Mosque in DHA Phase II, Karachi.
Seth Abid was said to had played a key role in the completion of Pakistan’s nuclear program and help to bring equipment from France to Pakistan when the United States imposed sanctions.
Seth was known as the most important character in the era of Bhutto and Zia-ul-Haq but then he disappeared from the scene. His name then made headlines in November 2006 when his son Hafiz Ayaz was killed by his bodyguard in Lahore.
Prominent businessman Seth Hafiz Ayaz Ahmad, a son of late tycoon Seth Abid, was among five people gunned down by a security guard who went on a shooting spree in the city’s Sattokatla area in 2006.
