ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar to ensure the timely completion of the federally funded development projects in Karachi.
According to a statement issued by Prime Minister Office (PMO), a delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) called on Prime Minister Imran Khan at the PM House in Islamabad today (Thursday).

Federal Planning Minister Asad Umar, MNA Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Senator Faisal Sabzwari attended the meeting wherein the prime minister was updated on the progress in ongoing development projects in Karachi.
The meeting discussed matters pertaining to Karachi development projects, the establishment of Hyderabad University, gas and power loadshedding, K-IV water projects and other issues.
The meeting also discussed the ongoing encroachment drive in the port city on orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Speaking on the occasion, the premier said as the federal government ensures timely release of funds under National Finance Commission, (NFC) it was also essential that Sindh government made just distribution of provincial funds.
The prime minister said the government was taking all out measures to resolve the issue faced by the people of Karachi. “Early completion of federal government projects in Karachi and early launch of newly announced works there were among government’s priorities,” he added.
