PM asks Interior Ministry to expedite tabling anti-torture bill in NA

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has asked Interior Ministry to expedite tabling the anti-torture bill in National Assembly.

In a tweet on Thursday, the prime minister wrote that torture is unacceptable in a civilised democratic society.

I have asked Interior Ministry to expedite tabling our anti torture bill in National Assembly. Torture is unacceptable in a civilised democratic society & goes against the spirit of Islam, our constitution & our international legal commitments.

“I have asked the Interior Ministry to expedite tabling our anti-torture bill in National Assembly. Torture is unacceptable in a civilized democratic society & goes against the spirit of Islam, our constitution & our international legal commitments,’ the prime minister tweeted.

Yesterday, the prime minister had said that the government was especially focusing on the establishment of quality standard laboratories to promote Pakistani products at international markets.

PM Khan said the government was paying special attention to the introduction of technology and innovations in agriculture and other fields.
