ISLAMABAD: A petition has been filed against the verdict of Lahore High Court in the Supreme Court today over the high treason case against president Pervez Musharraf.
The petitioner advocate Hamid Khan filed a petition in which he stated that the Lahore High Court did not have the authority to hear the petition against the formation of the special court.
The petition further stated the High Court did not properly interpret Article 6 of the 18th Constitutional Amendment in its decision and the High Court’s verdict made Article 6, which has special significance in the Constitution.
On 13th January, a full bench of the Lahore High Court termed the formation of the special court which passed the verdict, illegal.
Musharraf is currently in Dubai where he was admitted to a hospital after his health deteriorated earlier this month.
