Pakistan International Airlines is going to hire aircraft technicians on a daily wage basis, as decided by the PIA management.
Candidates who completed their apprenticeships at Pakistan International Airlines are ready for interviews, which have started for more than 100 candidates. The successful candidates will be considered for contract-based jobs.
PIA’s engineering department officials have called the apprenticeship candidates for interviews, while Pakistan International Airlines is ready to recruit over 100 technicians on a daily wage basis to address the shortage of engineers in the airline.
On the other hand, no decision has been made yet regarding the recruitment of aircraft engineers. The last fresh batch of aircraft engineers was recruited nine years ago. A PIA spokesperson confirmed to the media that the decision to hire technicians on daily wages is aimed at addressing the shortage.
PIA has already begun the interviews, and citing the Society of Aircraft Engineers spokesperson, some media reports have also confirmed the new recruitments for contract-based employment.
