Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has added its 11th Airbus A320, registered as AP-302, to its operational fleet. The aircraft has been equipped with refurbished engines, a fresh paint job, and an upgraded cabin.
PIA CEO Khurram Mushtaq expressed optimism about the fleet enhancement initiative, stating it would strengthen the airline’s network and operations.
He outlined plans for further improvements, including introducing in-flight internet services on domestic routes, stricter adherence to flight schedules, and an increased focus on delivering superior passenger experiences.
Moreover, PIA has announced the reactivation of a grounded Boeing 777 and an Airbus A320 to expand its operational fleet. The Boeing 777, a wide-body aircraft with a seating capacity of 440, is set to resume operations on January 10 and will primarily serve European routes and the Hajj operation. The aircraft had been grounded for over a year but will soon be operational with the delivery of two required engines to Pakistan within the next two days. Its first flight is scheduled to Paris.
These steps are expected to increase PIA’s active fleet to 18 aircraft. The reactivated Boeing 777 will play a key role in European operations, while the Airbus A320 will further enhance the airline’s domestic and regional services.
