ISLAMABAD: The government is expected to reduce the prices of petroleum products by Rs 9-11 which will be decided with the approval of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
According to the details, the prices of crude oil in the international market have come down, after which the chances of petroleum products becoming cheaper in Pakistan have also increased. According to media reports, petrol may become cheaper by Rs 11 per liter in the next 15 days.
Media sources said that the government intends to reduce the price of diesel by up to Rs 9 per liter, a decision of which is likely to come soon. The government is ready to fix the final price after the tax adjustment in view of the fall in crude oil prices in the world market.
It may be recalled that earlier the federal government decided to maintain the prices of petroleum products from December 1 and increased the levy on petrol and diesel by Rs. 4 per liter, which was passed on to the common man.
Despite falling crude oil prices in the international market, the government decided to keep the prices of petroleum products on December 1 instead of reducing them. The levy was also increased by Rs 4 per liter.
