LAHORE: Amid coronavirus threats, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday called off all remaining matches of Pakistan Super League (PSL-5) which are scheduled to be played in Pakistan.
The Pakistan Cricket Board officials have said that the matches were now will be rescheduled amid rising threats of Coronavirus in Pakistan. It further said the decision has been taken in the wake of players’ safety.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Pakistan had raised to 183 after more people tested positive across the country.
Sindh province has become the worst affected province of Pakistan as another 47 new cases have been tested positive for COVID-19. On the other hand, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Tuesday in its new coronavirus report that about 14,000 people have infected with the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) globally.
According to the WHO report, about 14,000 people have infected with the novel coronavirus disease over the past day, bringing the total number of confirmed cases above 167,500.
The WHO further stated 167,511 cases had been reported across the globe, with 13,903 new ones over the past 24 hours, adding that the worldwide death toll had jumped by 862 to 6,606 on Tuesday.
WHO reported stated that the number of confirmed cases in China remains at 81,077, the death count has accomplished 3,218. It further said that the number of COVID-19 cases outside of China has augmented by 13,874 to 86,434 on Tuesday in more than 152 countries.
