Amid escalating border tensions between India and Pakistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the postponement of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 10).
PCB’s decision came just hours after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) suspended the Indian Premier League (IPL) for a week, and also a few hours after the Pakistan board disclosed plans to move the remainder of the PSL 10 matches to Dubai.
“The decision to postpone has been taken pursuant to advice received from the Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif,” the PCB said in a statement.
There is strong speculation that the PCB was forced to postpone the PSL after failing to reach an agreement with the Emirates Cricket Board. Eight matches remain in the tournament, which was originally scheduled to conclude on May 18.
