The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has announced that passport offices in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad will remain open on February 5 to facilitate citizens, despite the public holiday announced for Kashmir Solidarity Day.
According to a notification issued by directorate on Tuesday, the passport offices at Garden Town in Lahore, G-10/4 in Islamabad, and Awami Markaz in Karachi will operate as usual on Wednesday.
DG Passport Mustafa Jamal Qazi said that the move is part of the department’s 24/7 service initiative to ensure uninterrupted public services.
Kashmir Solidarity Day will be observed on Wednesday to express the wholehearted support of Pakistani nation to the just struggle of the Kashmiri people for their inalienable right to self-determination under UN resolutions.
A public holiday has been declared, and all government, semi-government, private offices, and schools will remain closed.
The State Bank of Pakistan and all its offices will also remain closed tomorrow (Wednesday).
