Paris has been preparing for the Olympics for years, including constructing new sports venues and designing a mascot. The opening ceremony will be held on Paris’ iconic River Seine, marking the first time a summer Olympics opening takes place outside a stadium. The closing ceremony will occur at the Stade de France, which accommodates over 77,000 guests. The International Olympic Committee has announced that approximately 10,500 athletes will compete in the 2024 Olympics.

Where to watch the Summer Olympics?
In France, Warner Bros. Discovery (formerly Discovery Inc.) owns the domestic broadcasting rights through Eurosport, with free-to-air coverage provided by France Télévisions. Russia and Belarus have opted not to broadcast the Games due to sanctions, leading to a reduced quota of around 30 neutral athletes. This is the first time since 1984 that Russia has not purchased broadcasting rights.
The Olympics website will offer live streaming and recorded coverage of the events in selected markets, including Brazil.
