Pakistan’s Nasir Iqbal has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Asian Squash Championship.
Competing in Kuching, Malaysia, Nasir secured his place in the quarterfinals with an impressive performance, while fellow Pakistani player Noor Zaman faced defeat.
In the pre-quarterfinal, Nasir Iqbal defeated Hong Kong’s Lai Cheuk Nam with scores of 11-7, 2-11, 11-5, and 11-8. He will face Hong Kong’s Henry Leung in the quarterfinal round.
Meanwhile, World Under-23 Champion Noor Zaman lost his pre-quarterfinal match. Despite suffering an injury during the match, he continued to play despite back pain.
Noor Zaman was defeated by Malaysia’s Joachim Chuah with a score of 3-2. The Malaysian player won with game scores of 11-3, 11-3, 3-11, 10-12, and 11-2.
