A thriller based on crimes in Karachi, Laal Kabootar, has now been officially chosen as Pakistan’s submission for the upcoming Academy Awards, Oscars 2020.
Laal Kabootar was a joint venture of Geo Films and Nehr Ghar Films. The action-packed crime thriller features Adeel Nawaz as Ahmed Ali Akbar, a stubborn taxi-driver who wishes to move from Karachi to Dubai, and Mansha Pasha as Aliya Malik, a strong-willed woman whose life changes its course when a series of unexpected events take place.
Laal Kabootar was released on March 22, 2019.

The lead actor, Mansha Pasha called this movie a gift that stands as a landmark project within her 6 years of career. The star actor said it in a tweet.
