Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s government succeeded in increasing exports of all sectors of Pakistan in the first half of the current fiscal year- from July to December 2024.
According to a private TV report, textile and leather exports increased by 10% on an annual basis from July to December 2024. During the same period, exports in the agro and food sectors increased by 6% on an annual basis.
In the first half of the fiscal year, exports of other manufacturing products increased by 11%, exports of metals and gems by 7%, exports of minerals and petroleum by 48%, and exports of chemicals, fertilizers, and pharma increased by 25%.
In the first half of the fiscal year, textile and leather exports amounted to $9.62 billion and $4.13 billion, respectively.
From July to December, exports of other manufacturing products were $1.28 billion, exports of metals and gems were $614 million, exports of minerals and petroleum were $612.5 million, and exports of chemicals, fertilizers, and pharma sectors were $242.2 million.
