KARACHI: The nationwide tally of COVID-19 patients in Pakistan stands at 30,341 with 667 deaths after the country reported new cases in the last 24 hours.
According to the National Command and Control Center (NCOC), more than 476 cases of coronavirus were reported while 28 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours.
As many as 8,212 patients have recovered from the disease, while 153 are said to be critical as the country is still witnessing a consistent rise in the COVID-19 cases.
According to the National Command and Operation Centre, a total of 11,480 cases were reported in Sindh, 11,568 in Punjab, 4,669 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 2,017 in Balochistan, 679 in Islamabad, 442 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 86 in Azad Kashmir.
Out of a total of 667 deaths, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reported 245, Sindh 189, Balochistan 26, Gilgit-Baltistan 04, Punjab 197, and Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 06 deaths.
Pakistan on Saturday began easing the month-long lockdown despite a steady rise in the number of the coronavirus cases.
Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday said that Pakistan would begin easing its nationwide lockdown in a phase-wise manner by allowing various businesses, citing the economic crisis due to the shutdown, which was enforced in the country in March end.
